Terms of use

1. Who we are
Small Counts is run by HitF5 Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17531973), registered office 64 High View Road, Guildford, GU2 7RU. You can contact us at [email protected].
2. What Small Counts is
Small Counts is a personal notebook: you record the little things that matter to you, and it shows your totals, your pace towards any goals and your runs, and can turn a year's records into printable keepsakes. It's for adults. It isn't a health product and doesn't give medical, financial or any other professional advice.
3. The free version
You can use the free version for as long as you like, with no account. It doesn't run out and we won't take any of it away when you haven't bought.
4. Buying a year's keepsakes
A year's keepsakes (for example, your 2027 collection) is a one-time payment of £10 for that calendar year: a printable page for each month and a picture of the whole year. Each year is bought separately, only if you choose. Nothing renews, and there's no subscription and no account. Payment is taken by Stripe, our payment processor. The price shown is the price you pay.
UK buyers only. You need a card issued in the UK and a UK billing address to buy. A card issued outside the UK is declined at checkout. If a payment is made with a billing address outside the UK, we refund it in full automatically and don't issue a key.
When the payment goes through, you're shown a licence key for that year on screen and sent it by email. It doesn't expire: you can make that year's keepsakes, and make them again, for as long as Small Counts is available, including improvements we make to them, at no extra cost. Buying one year doesn't include other years. If we ever decide to close the service, we'll give reasonable notice, and what you've recorded stays on your devices for you to download.
5. Your key and your devices
Keep your keys private. Each year's key works on up to 5 devices. A device that hasn't been used for 60 days stops counting towards the 5. If you lose a key, enter the email address you bought with on the keepsakes page and we'll send all your keys again (at most 3 times a day).
Please don't share your key publicly or sell access. If a key's being widely shared we may stop it, and we'll tell you why if you write to us.
6. Refunds
You can have your money back, no questions asked, within 14 days of buying a year. We send the refund within 14 days of you asking, and usually much sooner. When we refund a year, that year's key stops working and its keepsakes lock again the next time your device is online. Other years you've bought aren't affected, and everything you've recorded stays on your device. The full details are in our Refund policy. This doesn't affect your legal rights under UK consumer law.
7. Your data
What you track is stored on your device, not with us. You can download a copy whenever you like.
Automatic backup is free and optional. It keeps one encrypted copy of your data, which you can restore with your recovery code. We do our best to keep it safe and available, but it's a backup, not a guarantee: please keep your recovery code safe, because we can't recover it or read your backup without it, and an occasional downloaded copy is a good idea too. A backup that hasn't been refreshed for 3 years is deleted; it's refreshed each day you open Small Counts with automatic backup on. See our Privacy policy for what we keep and why.
8. What's yours and what's ours
Yours: everything you enter in Small Counts: your themes, counts, lists and notes. We claim no rights in any of it.
Ours: the app, the guides, the drawings and the other words and pictures on this site belong to us, or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You may use them for yourself and share links to the site. Please don't copy, republish or sell them, or use them to train AI or to build another product.
9. Links to other sites
We link to other websites, such as the sources in our guides. Other websites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we don't control what they say or do.
10. Our responsibility to you
Your legal rights. The keepsakes you buy must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn't, you can ask us to fix the problem or replace it, and if we can't, you can have some or all of your money back. If something we supply damages your device or other digital content because we didn't take reasonable care, we'll repair the damage or pay you fair compensation. These are your rights under UK consumer law, and nothing in these terms takes them away. The advice services in section 13 can tell you more.
Keep your own copy. What you track lives in your browser, which can lose it (see the Privacy policy). Please download a copy from time to time.
What we're responsible for. If we break these terms or don't take reasonable care, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. Loss is foreseeable if it's obvious it'll happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you bought. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable. Small Counts is for personal use, so we're not responsible for loss of profit, business or business opportunity.
What we never limit. We don't exclude or limit our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it: for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breaking your legal rights as a consumer described above.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the law changes or when we add something new. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and for a change that matters we'll put a notice on the site (we don't keep your email address, so we can't write to you). A change will never take away anything you've already bought, charge you again for it or reduce your legal rights. If a change would make what you bought worse for you, tell us and we'll put it right or give you your money back.
12. If the business changes hands
We may pass Small Counts and these terms to another business, for example if we sell it. If we do, your licence and your rights under these terms go with it, and we'll say so on the site.
13. Law and disputes
If something goes wrong, please write to us first at [email protected]. We'll try to put it right quickly. We don't currently use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you also keep the protection of the consumer rules of the law where you live. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. If we ever had to bring proceedings against you, we'd do so only in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
